WELCOME!
Sunny Harvest invites you to become a member of our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. Operating in our fifth season, we are a cooperative of Amish farmers in Lancaster County, PA. Our CSA offers a mutually beneficial relationship between us, the local farms and you, the community of people who receive the food the we produce.
When you become a member of a CSA, you’re purchasing a “share” of produce from a regional farmer. Weekly or bi-weekly, from late May to the end of October (24 weeks), your farmer will deliver that share of produce to a convenient drop-off location in your neighborhood.
CSA members pay for an entire season of produce up-front. This early bulk payment enables your farmer to plan for the season, purchase new seed, make equipment repairs, and more. This commitment implies a willingness to share with the farmer both the bounty from the land and at least some of the risks of its production.
Each weekly share will include an average of 8-10 different items. Whenever possible, produce will be grown naturally utilizing IPM (integrated pest management) approaches or via organic methods.
